David “Yomo” Yeoman’s win in his hometown Skerries Road Races, has kickstarted a purple patch for the up and coming racer who is rapidly becoming the talk of the paddock after a hat trick of wins. The Skerries win was something that ‘Yomo’ had always dreamed of and the achievement has inspired him to further victories in Walterstown and Kells in the last fortnight. Leading one championship and a close second to his fellow Skerries man, David Howard, means that it’s a vintage season as he gets ready for the big one, the Isle Of Man TT. ‘Yomo’ had a golf classic at Skerries G.C., where 25 teams battled it out to raise funds for ‘Yomo’ to take on the most demanding course in the sport, following in the tyre tracks  of legend, Joey Dunlop. As he hacked his way around the course, ‘Yomo’ told the County Leader, “It’s all down to the team behind me, not just me alone and that keeps me going every weekend. Today is all about getting the funds to compete at the Isle Of Man TT and it’s a great turn out. It’s coming together and my two bikes are going well. The aim is to have a steady finish to the year and I should be right in there. David Howard is from just five doors away, so a nice bit of argy bargy between the two of us in the championship is good” Eamon Byrne was one of the main organisers of the golf day and he was delighted with the response. ”We managed to do it this way last year, so we’re giving it another lash and it’s a great turnout. Yomo would like to thank all those who have helped him this year from sponsors to punters as he chases the holy grail of a win at the Isle Of Man TT,” he concluded.
