Charity Golf Day For Young Mannix

A Charity Golf Day has been organised for four year old Mannix Kane, who is suffering from a rare form of cancer. The golf event will take place in Beaverstown Golf Club on Friday, March 19th at 9.00am sharp. Check in will be at 8.30am.

Lusk man, Jason Jenkinson, a family friend,  is organising the event and is appealing for sponsorship. He said that there has been a terrific response already to the plight of young Mannix. At present, he is undergoing treatment in Our Lady’s Childrens Hospital in Crumlin. Unfortunately, because of the type of cancer involved, his chances of full recovery are low. If need be, Mannix may have to go to the United States, where he would be involved in clinical trials. These are not available in Ireland, nor is funding for this kind of treatment.  The golf format will be a four man scramble, with a shotgun start at 9.00am. The cost is €200 per team of four, including lunch afterwards. To book your place for this very deserving event, call Jason Jenkinson on 086-4023871

Schroeder’s in Lusk was packed with lively locals in an effort to raise much needed funds. Mannix Kane is a four year-old boy who was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer, Clear Cell Sarcoma stage 4. All money raised by the campaign will go directly towards Mannix’s treatment, possibly including bringing Mannix to America for clinical trials. The table quiz was organised by locals, and was an extremely successful night, raising over €2,000.
