Monday, 08 March 2010 14:57 Local Fianna Fáil TD, Michael Kennedy, and Councillor Darragh Butler have welcomed approval to expend capital funds on the repair of the playground at Swords Town Park that was fire damaged by vandals last year. Kennedy said he and Cllr Butler were delighted that the County Council had reacted positively to their representations on the matter and that they were now going to provide essential funding to have the playground repaired for use by all in the area. “I understand that they will replace the damage to the play areas with metal parts to remove the risk of fire damage into the future. For this reason, there is no need to erect a higher railing around the playground,” explained Kennedy. “We will keep a close eye on progress as this work needs to be done as soon as possible, so that children and parents can once again avail of this facility for the community purpose it was designed and built for. |
