Rush Society Performs Classic

Just over 100 years since the death of one of Ireland’s greatest playwrights, Rush Dramatic Society will stage J.M. Synge’s classic The Playboy of the Western World. Directed by Seán Corcoran, this exciting production will open its doors to the public on Wednesday the 27th January. This, the first play in the Society’s 2010/11 season has been a collaboration between a number of individuals and groups in a further effort to extend the outreach policy of the Society in a new and exciting year at the Millbank.

As always, the play is produced for the entertainment of the patrons and supporters of this magnificent theatre in the North County, but this time there is a special focus on the educational aspects of the script as the play is on the curriculum for this year’s Leaving Certificate students. With this in mind, a number of pre-show talks will take place on Thursday the 4th, 11th and 18th of February at 7.45pm followed by a performance of the play. The play runs from the 27th of January to the 20th of February with booking details available on millbanktheatre.com
