New Healthcare College Launched In Swords

Last Thursday saw the official launch of the National College Of Healthcare Education in Applewood Village, Swords.

The college will deliver a number of healthcare courses ranging from nursing home health care skills and CPR and defibrillator training to occupational first aid was launched by Aine Brady TD, Minister of State with responsibility for Older People and Health Promotion. Commenting on the new college, Fingal Dublin Chamber President, Andrew O’Neill said, “We are delighted that this facility - the brainchild of Helena Moore, has seen the need for improved training in the Healthcare area. With H.I.Q.A. now inspecting nursing homes in a vigourous manner and the need for much higher standards, this college will meet the need in many areas”. According to ERSI reports, in 2026 there will be over 40,000 people over 65, up from 14,300 in 2006 creating a demand for many more nursing homes with increased nursing care facilities.
