The Laura Brennan Trust held a Gala Dinner in the Grand Hotel Malahide on Saturday 11th February last. Established in memory of Malahide girl Laura Brennan, the Trust financially supports local children suffering with serious and life threatening or life limiting illnesses. The Trust provides funding for therapy, transport costs, overseas consultants visits, medical equipment and day-to-day expenses. Pat and Nuala Brennan met families on the night who are receiving funding, and saw the difference it makes to their lives. Miss Ireland, Holly Carpenter hosted the evening in a packed Grand Hotel. She was a tireless host posing for photographs, modelling items for the auction and meeting all the young dancers who performed for the crowd. Charity administrator and event coordinator Denise Alford was delighted with the event and said “the atmosphere was amazing and everyone had a brilliant night.” She would like to say a special thank you to those who support the Gala year after year and “ to thank all of the local businesses who give so generously to us.” The evening raised € 15,000 which will go a long way in ensuring the fund is available to those who may be in need of support.
