A fundraising effort in aid of the RNLI Local Lifeboat Volunteers took place the 27th of January in Skerries. Many volunteers were out in different locations around the local area selling RNLI pins for 2 and all proceeds went in aid of S.O.S. fundraising day. Skerries RNLI are delighted to announce that they now have a new fundraising committee. They would like to extend their sincere thanks and a warm welcome to all those that have volunteered their time and effort to what is a vital role. You too can join in the RNLI’s fundraising day to show your support for the volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards. “Whether you raise money at school, at work or anywhere else, your donations will enable us to carry on our vital lifesaving work,” said a member of the fundraising committee. The RNLI is an independent charity, funded by voluntary donations. “We could not save lives at sea without your support.” Skerries Lifeboat is currently seeking a main sponsor for their very popular website and they are also seeking some sideline sponsors. Anyone would like to get involved in this worthwhile charity is more than welcome to contact RNLI Skerries.
