During the month of February, the Clarion Hotel Dublin Airport celebrates its 40th birthday. Hotel Manager, Lynn Cawley spoke of the many changes throughout the decades that have occurred and fondly remembered past guests and celebrities who have passed through the hotel. “From Jack Charlton along with his green army to Air Force One and its crew, the Clarion has played host to many famous and high profile individuals.” Currently, Lynn and her team look forward to the European Championships and wish Mr Trapattoni and his team every success in the Euros. Lynn is keen to point out that the Irish soccer team have enjoyed great success under Mr Trapattoni’s reign, but also attributes some of their success to the hotel’s Executive Head Chef, David Steele. David looked after the team requirements for many years at the hotel, and was then invited to travel with the senior squad to consult on catering facilities and nutritional matters. The hotel also boasts a great team of their own, which is it’s long serving team of loyal staff who have looked after all the hotels’ regular guests over the years. Many have worked in the hotel for over a quarter of a decade and instantly recognise the return patrons. Great friendships and loyalty have resulted over the past 40 years, with many couples in the area getting married in the hotel and have since returned for their children’s christenings, communions and even 21st birthday parties. Lynn Cawley went on to explain how the hotel is currently in the process of organising a reunion for all couples who got married over the past 40 years in the hotel to meet up with the team members, who looked after them on their special day.
