O’Dwyer’s GAA Club (Balbriggan) Adult Men’s team organised a sleep out in aid of Focus Ireland on Saturday 10th March last.
Each team in O’Dwyer’s were asked to co-ordinate a team event to celebrate the centenary of the club, which takes place on the 26th March. The Adult Men’s team came up with the idea of a sleep out and raising much-needed funds for charity.
The people of Balbriggan came out in their droves to support the lads and their generosity was amazing. The lads were well looked after by a number of local businesses that fed them and made sure they were ok.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Our heartfelt thanks from O’Dwyers to the lads and everyone in the town for their overwhelming support
“We will be holding a ‘Gathering’ on the 26th March (our official Centenary Day) in the clubhouse from 8pm. All members and friends are invited.
“We would love anyone who was involved or had a family member involved in the club over the years to attend. We will be sharing memories on the night and a toast to the next 100 years.”
