Cairde na Scoile, the Parents’ Association of Gaelscoil Bhrian Boroimhe (GSBB) in Applewood, Swords have a really appealing fundraiser planned, that is sure to have everyone bopping the night away.
Secretary of GSCC Cairde na Scoile, Miriam Lynch told the County Leader about the exciting fundraiser. She said: “What we have planned is a Lip-Sync battle on 21st April at 8pm at Club Zero at Carnegie Court Hotel, Swords.
Lip-Sync is when you can become a rock star for a few minutes – you want to become a singer but you don’t have the voice. You just mime to the music and put on a great performance to the background music. It’s all great fun, for a great cause
“We have a cast of 21 taking part – 12 teachers and the rest is made up of parents. Rehearsals have been ongoing since before Christmas and everyone is really enjoying it, with huge work being put in.
“There’s a choreographer, event management team to make sure everything runs smoothly on the night. We also have somebody editing music, artwork, make-up artists and hairdressers, all giving their services free of charge, which is much appreciated.
“We also have pupils designing costumes and this is all coming from parents. There’s a fantastic sense of community here in the school, where parents give their skillsets to good use.
There will be light food on the night, with DJ and late bar. Tickets are €25. Check out https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/gsbb-2018-lip-sync-battle-tickets-43835382810
