As part of their Young Social Innovator’s project, The Transition Year students of Lusk Community College decided to challenge how teenagers are perceived in their community. And what a successful job they did.
For one day only, on Saturday 9th December, Lusk Community College was transformed into Santa’s Grotto, with games and Christmas activities for the children all over the school and kind and friendly elves to help and guide.
They had horses out the back dressed as reindeer, the woodwork room was transformed into Santa’s workshop, the Home Economics room became Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen, Songs form Frozen were playing in the music room, a letter to Santa room, games, face painting and of course Santa’s grotto.
They linked up with various community groups including the GAA nursery, the soccer academy and little athletics. All the parents and children who attended on the day were very impressed and had a “very magical time”.
