Local Fine Gael TD Alan Farrell has welcomed the allocation of €5,000 for Fingal SPCA in Portrane and €2,000 for Royal Dog Rescue in Balbriggan from the Department of Agriculture’s Animal Welfare Scheme.
He said: “I am pleased that Fingal SPCA in Portrane has been awarded €5,000 and Royal Dog Rescue in Balbriggan has been granted €2,000 from the Department of Agriculture’s Animal Welfare Scheme.
“Funding for animal welfare organisations is essential in terms of supporting the hard work the volunteers and staff involved in providing animals in need with the care they require.
“The work undertaken by Fingal SPCE and Royal Dog Recue, and so many other organisations is of the utmost importance. Their commitment to caring for, rehabilitating and rehoming injured animals, as well as promoting responsible pet ownership is vital for animal welfare in our local communities and across the country.
“I hope that this funding will help Fingal SPCA and Royal Dog Rescue in their work, and assist them with providing care for animals in need.
“I wish to commend the staff of these organisations who carry out their work with complete dedication and professionalism.”
