The 11th annual Tractor Run in aid of St Francis Hospice took place on Sunday 7th January last.

This fundraiser for the hospice is organised every January by the evergreen Barney Greene, whose tireless efforts over the past 11 years, have made a great difference to the hospice. To date, a total of €78,000 has been raised and the hope is that this tear will be bigger and more successful than ever.

This year, a total of 94 tractors departed from Man O’War on their journey throughout the North County in cold, but pleasant weather conditions. Barney, as usual led out the tractors, but not before he made sure that everything was in ship shape and everyone was accounted for.

Then, in military-like precision the tractor run commenced, with Barney at the helm, with plenty of people lending their support. Afterwards, refreshments were provided by the management of Man O’War pub, as participants enjoyed stories and plenty of banter.
Well done Barney and all who supported a great cause.
