Malahide Tidy Towns held their annual fundraising evening on 20th July last. It was a table quiz in The Grand Hotel in Malahide, which is one of the main sponsors of the event. The night was a great success with many local residents participating in the quiz, the venue was packed out and everybody was having fun. There was a lovely community atmosphere in the venue on the evening.
This year, they have a new Secretary, Daphne Greene for Malahide Tidy Towns and she would like to thank volunteers individually for their significant contribution and most of all, for making things happen.
Committee members include, Gerry Rafferty (Chairperson), Heidi Bedell, Cillian Heaney, Nicky Cleere, Niamh O’Connor, Kelly Campbell, Ron Woods, James McFadden, Ken McClean, Anthony Lavin, Hazel Bolton, Philip Lynch, Pat McNamara (Treasurer) and Gina.
Many local businesses sponsored the event and provided gifts for the prizes too. Also, a special thank you to the best quiz master, Alan Johns who made it all look so easy and the quiz just flowed. Having the skill to capture and maintain somebody’s interest – is a beautiful gift.
The committee look forward to the event next year and if you would like to become involved in Malahide Tidy Towns, they would love to hear from you on Facebook: Malahide Tidy Towns.
