The County Council has welcomed the announcement by Convergys, a global provider in customer management services, that it is creating a further 100 new jobs at its contact centre on the Swords Business Campus.
The company, which is also based in Santry, delivers customer service and technical support services to BT broadband and phone customers in the UK and has already filled 150 jobs since it began recruiting last December.
Welcoming the news, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, Paul Reid, said that it was another major boost for the county, and in particular Swords.
“This is the second big jobs announcement for Swords in the past fortnight and is another endorsement of the North County as a place to do business. Convergys have been based here for over 15 years and have found a skilled workforce in the region that matches their requirements and has allowed the company to expand its operations.”
Ed Hearne, Director of Economic, Enterprise and Tourism at the Council said. “Convergys are just one of many global leaders who have based their Irish operations in the region and, as a Council, we continue to work closely with them all so they can expand and create more jobs in the county.”
County Mayor Cllr Darragh Butler, said: “This is more great news for Swords. The creation of these 100 jobs, together with 150 already created since December, will be a major boost to the local economy.”
