St Catherine’s National School, Rush held a Green Schools Action Day last week, in preparation for their efforts to get their 7th Green Flag this year. The Green Flag is all about Global Citizenship, Litter, Waste and includes a module on Fairtrade and Globalisation. The pupils were involved in a monster clean-up of the local community at Halloween, as well as collecting clothes for the local St Vincent de Paul. The County Council planted trees around estates in Rush and the children look after them. On the Action Day, the pupils gave very interesting information about various projects related to Globalisation and it is evident that they put a lot of hard work into their various projects. They even put on a play about Fairtrade, which was full of information and excellently performed.
