St Francis Hospice Raheny has been the charity of choice for Swords Pavilions Shopping Centre for the years 2015, 2016 and also for the remainder of this year. Centre Director, Ian Hunter and Deirdre King, Marketing Manager paid a visit to St Francis Hospice to present them with a huge cheque for €66,324.71.

Speaking at the presentation, both Sr. Margaret Cashman and Ward Manager, Mary Condon said, “We were delighted to welcome Ian Hunter, Swords Pavilions Shopping Centre Manager and his colleague Deirdre King, Marketing Manager, to the Hospice to thank and acknowledge the very generous fundraising that has been carried out at the Pavilions by their staff, supported by their customers throughout 2015 and 2016. The incredible funds raised at the Pavilions Shopping Centre for the past two years has culminated in the massive total of €66,324.71. These monies have been put towards the purchase of specialised beds and mattresses for St. Anne’s 19 Bed In-Patient Unit, Raheny. They advised that having these specialised beds on the unit brought huge comfort to patients and made it easier for staff when caring for the patient.

“We are delighted to announce that our partnership with the Pavilions Shopping Centre and their staff will continue throughout 2017. This year we hope to raise funds for a Jacuzzi Bath and Patient Hoist. Again our deepest thanks to the Management, Staff and customers of the Pavilions Shopping Centre, we are very fortunate to have such committed support,” they concluded.
