Balbriggan Worker Awarded As Unsung Hero

Nuno Filipe Vieira Coelho from Balbriggan, originally from Portugal, was among 150 people working in private and public sector businesses and facilities across Ireland, who were honoured recently in the GEM Awards, (Going the Extra Mile).

The awards were presented by ISS Ireland, a major provider of outsourced site services, employing over 3,500 people throughout Ireland.
According to the judges, Nuno, who is married, joined the East Coast Catering, Hatch Hall Catering team in the summer of 2014. Since his arrival to the site, his attention to detail has been remarkable and his friendly and welcoming personality comes through in his daily interactions with residents. His organisational skills and punctuality are faultless and he has set a high standard for other security officers that have come to train on the site. Nuno is described as an integral part of the Hatch Hall team.

The Irish GEM Awards were presented by Richie Hogan, the popular Kilkenny Hurling GAA Star, who said he was delighted to participate in the event which recognises the hard work and dedication of frontline staff in the services sector.
