Balbriggan Students Cyclethon For Haiti

Cycle WayCycle Way

The Transition Year students from Loreto Balbriggan along with their teacher, Karen Ryan, are organising a cyclethon in the school Gym, on Thursday 28th April to raise funds for The Soul of Haiti Foundation. The cyclethon is the brain child fo Emma Jordan, a 5th year student in the school and daughter of Jock Jordan, who is involved with the foundation.
The Soul of Haiti Foundation is an Irish registered charity which was established in 2007 by a group of business people who were finalists of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Upon visiting Haiti, these men and women came together with the aim to apply their entrepreneurial skills and resources to create a positive impact on the lives of the people of Haiti. The Soul of Haiti’s mission is to exercise its expertise to improve the economic and social circumstances of communities in Haiti in a practical, sustainable manner. Since its establishment in 2008, the Soul of Haiti has been working with key communities in Haiti with a focus on the south of the country. They aim to engage in a meaningful way and use our business skills and resources to help the Haitian people develop their communities. Their core goal is to assist in the development of enterprise, which requires them to get involved in education and general community engagement and support.
