Ryan Slams Sinn Fein Hypocrisy

Local TD, Brendan Ryan (Lab), while welcome the fact that Sinn Fein are to use their private members time in the Dail to discuss issues around housing and homelessness, “find their hypocrisy a little hard to take.”
He said, “Just last week, Sinn Fein had an opportunity to provide additional funding to homeless services in both the Fingal County Council area and in Dublin City, but the temptation to take the easy, populist option proved to be too much of a temptation for them.
In the North County, Labour proposed a package that would have provided an additional €1.8m investment in homeless services, but Sinn Fein councillors Daire Ni Laoi, Natalie Treacy, Edmond Lukusa, Philip Lynam, Malachy Quinn, and Paul Donnelly, all voted it down.”
“That’s not politics, That’s hypocrisy, and people are beginning to see through it. “It is becoming increasingly clear that Sinn Fein have nothing to offer except hocus-pocus economics. They are clueless when it comes to financial matters. They want to scrap every tax and increase every item of spending said Ryan.
“Well the voters are not buying it, and they are right. This country is in recovery mode, and people know that voting for Sinn Fein would put the recovery at risk.
In fact the prospect of Gerry Adams as Taoiseach scares the living daylights out of most people. Increasing funding to services provided by local authorities will certainly not solve all the problems around homeless and housing, but it would be a good start. Sadly in Fingal and Dublin City, that’s not going to happen, and we can thank Sinn Fein for that,” he concluded.
