Dublin Airport Wins National Award

Dublin Airport (daa) has just been named as the national winner at this year’s National Q Mark Awards. Hailed as “The Custodians of Business Excellence”, the team from daa were beaming with pride as they were called to the stage to receive the winner’s trophy during an exciting awards ceremony held in the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Dublin.
The Q Mark Awards are forever associated with quality and excellence in the minds of Irish consumers and it is the only quality management system which lets businesses monitor 100 per cent of their processes and procedures 100 per cent of the time. The Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton TD, who attended this year’s awards ceremony said, “ It is impressive to see so many Irish businesses from all sectors and counties embedding quality standards as a key part of their offering to customers. These are the innovative Irish businesses that are powering the engine of our recovery, and I wish them every success in the future”. Daa operates the airport with nearly 2,600 employees. The principal activities of daa is airport management and development. Additionally, daa operates international airport retail stores through subsidiary, Aer Rianta International (ARI). They also operate an airport management consultancy and advisory service, using 75 years of experience to unlock value for airport investors. As they left the stage with their award, Liz Kavanagh, Customer Experience Manager said, “We are honoured and delighted to win the Q Mark Award. It instils a sense of pride throughout the business. We are committed to continuous improvement and meeting and exceeding our customers’
expectations. The Q Mark is an excellent tool to assist us in this drive to develop and improve the customer experience at Dublin Airport,” she said.
