Cycle WayCycle Way

Tour de Leinster 2015, in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland, is now open for registration. The 4 day, 600 km cycling challenge will take place from 24th to 27th September, with the cycle arriving in the North County on the final day. On Thursday, September 27th participants will cycle through Malahide, Portmarnock and finish up at Howth Hill. The challenge gives cyclists the opportunity to ride with cycling icon, Sean Kelly, while taking in breathtaking scenery, ascents, descents and the open road across Leinster.
The funds generated from the Tour de Leinster will directly go to over 1,000 Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) members. DSI receive little government funding and have to fundraise 90 percent of the E2.4 million require to run their services annually. Each participant covers their own costs so that the full funds raised from the Tour de Leinster event will go directly towards benefiting the DSI members through essential services delivered at national and local level, such as home teacher programmes and speech and language therapy. A registration fee of E190 is required from each cyclist to participate in the event. This fee covers two Tour de Leinster jerseys, all tea/coffee/lunch stops, full experienced support crew including outriders and medics, luggage vans including day van and overnight luggage van and a Sunday evening homecoming reception. Each cyclist also covers their own hotel cost of E195 which includes 3 nights bed and breakfast on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and 3 evening meals. The total cost of participation, including registration and accommodation is E385 per person.
