A Coffee morning was held recently by the Revival Club at River Valley Community Centre, in aid of ARC Cancer Support group.
An impressive total of €500 was collected at the coffee morning, as a result of the efforts of the dedicated ladies of the Revival Club, which included members doing baking and people making donations. “ARC Cancer Support group provides post operative care for patients suffering from cancer. The group is a tremendous help to people in the aftermath of cancer treatment, where they provide counselling, yoga, relaxation and visualisation for patients. People are always there to talk to you when you go there,” said Frances O’Connor, one of the fundraising committee at Revival and also a beneficiary of ARC services.
Revival Club secretary, Linda Kenrick said, “We in Revival consider ourselves to be the active retired teenagers and we organise the likes of yoga and trips away and we are in existence for five years now and are going from strength to strength in that time. The money came about through the great efforts of all the ladies here at the club,” said Linda.
“The whole operation was done on a wing and a prayer, with little enough preparation, but the women here are of great spirit and we are delighted to be able to support a wonderful organisation like ARC,” she concluded.
