Best friends, Rachael Palmer and Hana Kelly from Swords are two 11 year old girls who have decided to donate up to 10 inches of their hair to Little Princess Trust, which specialises in making wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer, as well as alopecia. The girls, who are pupils at Swords Educate Together National School had their long hair chopped on Friday last at Mane Hair Studios in Applewood Village. Both girls said that they were thinking about less well off children when they made the decision to have their flowing locks donated to the charity. They have also been fundraising, as the price to make one wig is E350 and have reached their target with the help of friends, family, neighbours and their School, Swords Educate Together National School in Applewood. Already they have amassed the impressive total of E700.
