Giro Mania Hits North County

Dublin Airport got into the Giro D’Italia festive mood last week, with pink balloons and bunting displayed in both Terminals 1 and 2, as cyclists arrived in for the race last weekend.

Dublin Airport’s Twitter avatar had been changed to pink and some areas around the airport campus are lit up with pink lighting at night time for the occasion.

Dublin Airport spokesperson, Siobhán O’Donnell said “We were delighted to do what we could to support this prestigious event and extend a Céad Míle Fáilte to cyclists, who arrived for the Giro D’Italia.  Colleagues in our Gardening Section did a fantastic job in landscaping the Giro D’Italia logo into a raised embankment area, close to T2, which could be seen by all visitors to the airport. We hope our visitors enjoyed what Ireland has to offer during their stay,” she added.

To mark the arrival of the Giro d'Italia to Ireland, Fingal County Council created a giant grass graphic at Ardgillan Park. The graphic has broken the world record.
