There was great excitement in St Peter and Paul J.N.S in Balbriggan last week when it was announced the school had won an amazing four prizes in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Poetry, Art and Essay Competition. This is always a very popular competition run each year by Balbriggan Town Council. The pupils had been working very hard in the weeks running up to the deadline composing essays and poems on St. Patrick’s life and putting the finishing touches to their art work. The lucky winners were, James Harper (First Class) who came 1st in his essay age group, Shauna Rowe and Emmanuel Adedeji (both Senior Infants) who came 2nd and 3rd respectively in their essay age group and Collins Imadonmwonyi (Senior Infants) who came 3rd in his Art age group.
Chairman of Balbriggan Town Council Cllr Gerry Buckley was on hand to make the presentations to the winners in the school on Wednesday March 11th while proud principal Mrs. Frayne and class teachers Ms. Fagan, Ms. Meehan and Mrs. Anderson looked on. Each pupil received Wise Owl book tokens for all their hard work.
